Acid Reflux & Heartburn- Acid reflux occurs when the acid from the stomach flows back up the food pipe (oesophagus) and causes burning and in chronic cases can lead to scarring. Treatment will involve a complete Diet & Lifestyle Assessment and Herbal remedies.

Maybe you have allowed the cold to reach the abdominal area and the body needs to get rid of it by vomiting. Treatment will include Diet and Lifestyle Assessment, Acupuncture and Herbal remedies.
Gastritis – Or an inflammation of the stomach lining. There are a number of causes such as, chemical or physical irritants (drugs or hot spicy foods), infection from contaminated foods and an allergic reaction to something you have eaten. The result is the same, severe upper abdominal pain at the base of the ribcage, nausea and vomiting. Treatment will involve a Lifestyle assessment to ascertain what has caused the initial problem, Acupuncture for the pain and Herbal Remedies.

Ulcers – These happen when a small area of the stomach wall is destroyed by the stomach acid. They can occur in two places, in the stomach itself (gastric ulcer) or in the duodenum (duodenal ulcer), which is the first part of the small intestines connected to the stomach. The pain usually separates the type of ulcer with a gastric ulcer occurring in the middle upper abdominal area 30 minutes to one hour after eating. Duodenal ulcer pain occurs on the right hand side of the upper abdominal area 2-3 hours after a meal. Treatment will involve Diet and Lifestyle Assessment, Acupuncture and Herbal Remedies.
Appendicitis – This is caused by a small area of the large intestines (the vermiform) becoming blocked and infected. The symptoms involve pain in the lower left area of the abdomen that eventually moves to the right region, nausea, vomiting and fever. Appendicitis pain should never be left untreated, a visit to the GP and eventually hospital will be required.
Diarrhoea – Is classified as the abnormal passage of soft or liquid faeces usually caused by intestinal infections but it can be a symptom of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). This occurs when the muscles surrounding the bowel constrict to cause constipation and then relax to cause diarrhoea. The bowel movements switch between diarrhoea and constipation with extreme muscular spasms causing lower abdominal pain. The cause can be stress and diet thus the treatment will involve an Assessment of both, Acupuncture and Herbal Remedies.
Constipation – This is the opposite of diarrhoea, sufferers find it difficult to pass faeces and if the problem is allowed to persist abdominal pain occurs and secondary complications can arise. Causes include diet, stress, drugs and a lack of exercise. Treatment will Assess all of these issues, Acupuncture and Herbal remedies.
Other Conditions may include the abdominal organs such as the Liver, Gall Bladder, Spleen and The Pancreas. Pain involving any of these organs will be referred to a GP until Diagnosis is achieved. If you suffer from pain in these organs due to a long term problem that cannot be resolved with Drugs then we will discuss your condition in depth to ascertain if Acupuncture and Herbal Remedies can help.
